Prayer Guide · For Men Attending

Prepare Your Heart

The retreat starts before you arrive. Use this simple guide in the week leading up to Big Canyon Ranch.

7 Days Out

Ask God to Break Up Fallow Ground

Pray Hosea 10:12. Ask God to show you where you've grown passive, distracted, or complacent as a man.

"Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the Lord."

5 Days Out

Pray for Your Family

Ask God what it looks like for you to build well as a husband and father. Pray specifically for your wife and kids by name, and for what you're leaving behind while you're away.

3 Days Out

Pray for the Men Around You

Pray for the man God wants to bring across your path at the retreat — someone to encourage, or someone to learn from. Ask for eyes to see who needs a brother.

1 Day Out

Pray for a Ready, Humble Heart

Pray 1 Timothy 6:11–12 over yourself. Ask God to strip away distraction and pride so you can hear clearly and fight the good fight of faith.

"But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith." — 1 Timothy 6:11–12

For Dads With Older Sons

A Rite of Passage

Sons ages 16 and up are welcome to attend Called to Build alongside their fathers. For many dads, this weekend can become more than just a retreat — it can mark a real step into manhood.

Consider using the week leading up to the retreat as a season of intentional preparation with your son — a conversation about what it means to become a man, a shared task or challenge, or simply focused time together before you head to Big Canyon Ranch. If you'd like help thinking through what that could look like, reach out to the church office — we'd love to help you build something meaningful.
